Christmas nearly here
Madly picking Raspberries but weather this year is atrocious. Lots of rain and quite cold. Both difficult conditions for picking. The first makes it impossible to pick as wet raspberries are allmost impossible to handle both for the pickers and me when I am packing them into punnets. The second condition means that fruit ripens much more slowly. This is certainly not desirable when everyone wants raspberries and having taken orders are unable to meet demand.
In Tasmania it is a tradition to have raspberries for Christmas but after Christmas demand drops back to much more normal levels. So we were rather hoping to have a win win situation but you all know the rule. ‘Never count your chickens before they hatch’
Best regards to all, have a Merry Christmas.
regards Densi and Ann
